Schedule of events for the 2013 Wellington Ohio Cheese Heritage Festival (Lorain County)

The Wellington Cheese Festival will take place the third weekend of July 2013 in the Village of Wellington’s historic downtown.

In the 1800′s, Wellington OH was known as the Cheese Capital of the United States.  In those days, Lorain County and the northern Ohio area was full of dairy farms and country farmland, and Wellington’s railroad gave the dairies the ability to market their products to all of America.  Tourists who visit Wellington today can see a gorgeous historic downtown and expensive homes on Main Street that were built in the Victorian style back when the cheese industry was booming.

Cheese Festival activities and events include: special family events, food, live music and entertainment, rides, raffles, cheese for sale, games and much more family-friendly stuff.
