Thanks to the North Ridgeville Residents Who Saved Me From Heat Exaustion Today

North Ridgeville OhioWent door-to-door in North Ridgeville today for about four hours and visited more than 300 homes, but it ended up being a lot more difficult than usual because of the heat.  I usually don’t let myself have anything to drink until after I’m done walking (it’s a great motivator to make me walk faster), but that wasn’t really an option today.  I brought a small bottle of water with me, but that ran out pretty quickly, so I resigned myself to hitting the rest of my route without anything more to drink.

Thank goodness for the very kind residents of North Ridgeville!  In that four hour period, three different residents tracked me down in their neighborhood to bring me cold drinks.  Paul and Monique Mylonas brought me a Gatorade, and Joe Rink brought me a cold bottle of water.  Their kindness kept me going a lot longer than I would have been able to otherwise.

I was happy to have the opportunity to talk with the Mylonas’s and Mr. Rink, and am very thankful for their kindness.  I’ve visited close to 12,000 homes in Lorain County over the last six months, and I’ve been very impressed with how kind and neighborly most people are.

I’ll be doing much more door-to-door campaigning in North Ridgeville over the next few weeks.  If you live there, I hope that I get a chance to meet you!
