Rich Resendez, Lori Kokoski & Bill Grace Are Democrats Running For Lorain County Commissioner

UPDATE: Former Elyria Mayor Bill Grace has also filed to run for Lori Kokoski’s commissioner seat in the March 2012 Democrat primary election race.

Rich Resendez, a former captain with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department, has announced that he will challenge Lorain County Commissioner Lori Kokoski in the Democrat Primary for the commissioner’s seat in 2012.

Resendez has spent more than 30 years in local law enforcement, including the City of Lorain’s police department.  This is the first time he has

run for public office, and he now works at the North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility as an investigator.

As of October 2011, no other Democrat or Republican candidates have announced their intention to run in the election for Kokoski’s Lorain County Commissioner seat.  Also up for re-election in 2012 is Democrat Lorain County Commissioner Ted Kalo.  Commissioner Tom Williams, a Republican, is not up for re-election until 2014.
