In the 2012 Ohio State Representative race for the 55th District, Republican Rae Lynn Brady has filed for a re-match with Democrat Matt Lundy.  Brady, an Elyria resident, ran against Lundy in the 2010 election as well.

Brady has no primary challenger for the Republican nomination for this election in the March 2012 Lorain County primary.  Lundy also does not have any primary challenge in the Democratic Party.  Independent candidates might still file to run for the seat, but none have yet.

The new Ohio 55th District includes parts of the communities of Elyria, Elyria Township, Grafton Village, Grafton Township, Carlisle Township, Sheffield Village, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville and Eaton Township.
