Matt Lundy, a Democrat from Elyria, is the elected State Representative for the 57th Ohio House District, which is located in Lorain County Ohio.  The district includes areas of Elyria, North Ridgeville, Avon, Avon Lake and Sheffield Village.  Lundy unseated State Representative Earl Martin, a Republican, in 2006 to win the seat.  He is currently serving his third term in the state legislature.

UPDATE: following redistricting, Lundy now represents Ohio’s 55th house district.  He is being challenged in the 2012 election by Republican Rae Lynn Brady.  The newly re-drawn district now includes parts of the communities of Eaton Township, North Ridgeville, Avon Lake, Sheffield Village, Carlisle Township, Grafton Township, Grafton Village, Elyria and Elyria Township.

Matt Lundy attended school at Lorain County Community College, where he received an associate’s degree, and at Wichita Kansas Friends University, where he received a human resource management bachelor’s degree.  Lundy attended Avon Lake High School, and before he entered elected office he was a television news reporter.  He has worked in the television reporting field in the states of Ohio, North Carolina, Utah, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Previously, Representative Lundy served as a city councilman on Avon Lake City Council.  He also worked as the assistant safety service director in the City of Elyria under Mayor Bill Grace.
