Lorain County's primary election for Democratic candidates and Republican candidates will be on March 6, 2012.

Looks like the Ohio state legislature has approved a new plan that guarantee that the entire state–including Lorain County–will have only one primary election in 2012, rather than the two primaries that had been planned for March and June.

Once the governor signs the legislation that just passed the Ohio house and senate, all primary candidates will be on the ballot on March 6, 2012 . . . whether they are local such as Lorain County Commissioner candidates, congressional candidates, state candidates or presidential candidates.

Before this legislation was passed, the state had planned on holding two primary races: one for March which would include local candidates, state candidates and U.S. Senate candidates, and then another in June for all other candidates.
