The following duties are performed by the Lorain County Engineer’s office:

Preparation of plans for maintaining, building and repairing roads, ditches, drains, culverts, bridges, county fairground roads in Lorain County (those which are constructed under the authority of the county). The engineer is a professional registered engineer or registered surveyor, and he is charged with details, specifications, submission of forms and estimates of cost for the above duties.

The department is funded by the Lorain County Commissioners board, made up of Ted Kalo, Lori Kokoski and Tom Williams.
