Let’s Cleanup Amherst for Lorain County Pride Day This Saturday!
Did you know that this Saturday, May 19th is Lorain County Pride Day? People and organizations across the county are going to spruce up their communities with all kinds of different cleanup and beautification projects.
If you live in Amherst, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to pitch in and help clean up our city on Saturday.
I will be leading a small group of volunteers to clean up trash around the highway exits on Oak Point Road (North Lake Street), near the traffic lights. If you want to help, you can meet me in the parking lot of Panera Bread on Oak Point Road at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
It should only take about an hour. Please bring brooms, rakes, gloves, trash bags or anything else you think we might need. NO CHILDREN PLEASE . . . we will be cleaning up near a busy road. We WILL NOT be cleaning the exit ramps, just the area near the traffic lights.
Also, Main Street Amherst is looking for volunteers on Saturday, both individuals and groups, to assist us in getting our historic district ready for a busy summer. For more information on how you can become involved, in Main Street Amherst’s Pride Day efforts, please contact Teresa Gilles at (440) 984-6709.
