An Amherst Councilman, Frank Janik is running for Judge of Lorain County Domestic Relations Court

Frank Janik is an elected Democratic Amherst Ohio City Councilman At-Large.  Janik is one of three current Council At-Large members in Amherst OH (as of February 2011).  Other At-Large Councilmen in Amherst include Steven Mihalcik (also a Democrat) and Phil Van Treuren (a Republican).

Janik has filed paperwork to run in the 2012 Democratic primary election for Judge for the Lorain County Domestic Relations court.

Three other Democrats are running for their party’s nomination for this judge seat in 2012.  They are Michael Tony, Paulette Lilly, and Mary Louise Tobin.

One Republican judge candidate, Richard Ramsey of Amherst, has also filed to run for the seat.

Frank Janik has filed to run for re-election to his second term on Amherst City Council, as did Phil Van Treuren.  Terry Traster did not file to run for re-election in 2011.  Another Democrat candidate, Steve Mihalcik, has filed to run for Amherst City Council At-Large in the November 8 2011 general election.

If no other Independent candidates file to run for the council at-large race before the May 3 2011 primary election filing deadline, then Janik, Mihalcik and Van Treuren will win the seats uncontested.
