In 2012, there are two candidates for Lorain County Domestic Relations Court Judge.  They are Richard Ramsey and Frank Janik.  Both candidates are attorneys from the City of Amherst.

Richard Ramsey is your candidate for Judge of the Lorain County Domestic Relations Court. Rich has been practicing domestic relations law for his entire career. He is married and has two children. Frank Janik

Frank Janik is an elected Democratic Amherst Ohio City Councilman At-Large.  Janik is one of three current Council At-Large members in Amherst OH (as of February 2011).  Other At-Large Councilmen in Amherst include Steven Mihalcik (also a Democrat) and Phil Van Treuren (a Republican).

Three other Democrats ran for their party’s nomination for this judge seat in 2012.  They were Michael Tony, Paulette Lilly, and Mary Louise Tobin.

Only one Republican judge candidate, Richard Ramsey of Amherst, has  filed to run for the seat.

Frank Janik has filed to run for re-election to his second term on Amherst City Council, as did Phil Van Treuren.  Terry Traster did not file to run for re-election in 2011.  Another Democrat candidate, Steve Mihalcik, has filed to run for Amherst City Council At-Large in the November 8 2011 general election.

If no other Independent candidates file to run for the council at-large race before the May 3 2011 primary election filing deadline, then Janik, Mihalcik and Van Treuren will win the seats uncontested.
