Voters in Lorain County communities of North Ridgeville, Avon, Rochester, Huntington, Brighton, Wellington, Penfield, LaGrange, Grafton and Columbia Townships will be casting ballots for their next congressperson in the new Ohio 7th Congressional District.
Incumbent Congressman Bob Gibbs is the Republican candidate for the seat. He is running for a second term, and was formerly an Ohio state senator and state representative. He owns Hidden Hollow Farms and has a degree from the agricultural technical institute at Ohio State University.

Joyce Healy-Abrams
Joyce R. Healy-Abrams is the Democratic challenger for the 7th district congressional election. She resides in the Canton area and her brother is William J. Healy II, the mayor of Canton. The November 6, 2012 general election will be an exciting one for Lorain County residents. In addition to choosing between presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, voters will also cast ballots for Lorain County Commissioner, Sheriff, Domestic Relations Court Judge, and new congressional representatives in the 7th, 9th and 4th districts.
