Lorain County Ohio Sheriff Candidate AJ Torres, 2012 General Election

Audali (AJ) Torres
Former Ohio Highway Patrol trooper Audali (A.J.) Torres has announced that he will run as a Republican to challenge current Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti in the November 2012 general election. Torres faces no primary opponent in the March 2012 Republican primary race.
Torres recently retired from the Highway Patrol after 26 years of service. He is a graduate of Admiral King high school and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Stammitti is the only Democrat in the race for sheriff in 2012, and will also face no opposition in the March Democratic primary election. Torres and Stammitti will face each other on the ballot on November 6, 2012.
There are several other contested races for Lorain County offices in 2012. They include incumbent Democrat Lorain County Commissioner Lori Kokoski versus Republican challenger Mike Musto; incumbent Democratic Lorain County Commissioner Ted Kalo versus Republican challenger Phil Van Treuren; and Republican Richard Ramsey versus Democrat Frank Janik in the race for Lorain County Domestic Relations Court Judge.
